English is an important language.

 

            English is an useful language. It is spoken all over the world. So, it is regarded as a link language. The people who say English is a very useful language, argue that it is an international language. Today the world is becoming narrower as everyone can communicate easily as there is a language called English. In a country like Sri Lanka, where different ethnic groups live, need a link language to express the ideas. It need for ethnic integration.

                      English is necessary for higher education. Most of books in medicine and Engineering have been written in English. Also the  people who know English are respected in the society. Also people can get a better job if he/she know English. Studies have shown that if one can speak English, he is generally considered trustworthy, educated and intelligent person.
